Cemetery Walk

This year we'll be visiting two of the oldest and least well known cemeteries in South Bristol, the Old Thompson Cemetery & the McFarland Cemetery. Please join us if you can, and if you would like to contribute to some clean up work, please bring a rake, garden clippers and some tick repellent! Meet at the Thompson Ice House at 10.00 am.

Ryan Naylor, a student at Lincoln Academy and his father, SBHS Trustee Mike Naylor, will give an in-depth account of their family’s history in West Bristol/Walpole/South Bristol from the mid 1700’s to modern times. The focus will be on their Goudy & McFarland family
Boat Builders

We have asked a number of South Bristol boat builders to share a piece of their history and to answer questions. There will also be exhibits and information on the history of boat building in our town.The SBHS Annual Meeting will be held prior to the program.

Continuing on from last year, South Bristol Historical Society Historian Dave Andrews will present further photographs of South Bristol through many decades. Both newcomers and long-time residents are likely to discover something they haven't seen before on this photo tour through time and our town.
