South Bristol's First Firetruck

Important purchase by the town in 1922

One hundred years ago, Jan. 12, 1922, The Lincoln County News reported that South Bristol had its first new modern fire engine. The town raised the money quickly in response to the death of a local volunteer fireman, Harvard Foster, the year before. The full story of Harvard Foster is in our 2021 Fall newsletter.
